Creating designs for technical stories like CPUs in FPGAs: Many Faces to a Trend can be daunting, but I’m always up for a challenge. While art directing EDN, a publication for design engineers in the electronics industry, I had to dig deep, but always found a visual hook on which to base the design. Shrinking art budgets increased reliance on stock imagery, which in turn made me adept at photo illustration.
